Pier „Altona Fischmarkt“

Fish market in Hamburg Altona. Where the bistro LIBERTÉ is situated was once the landing place of the fishermen’s boats.

Since 1703 this marketplace has been selling the freshest fish in town. The trading market still goes on. Every early Sunday morning you can find just about anything around the area of the LIBERTÈ. Banana, palm trees, plastic bags full of sausages for a low price and fish of course. You have to experience Mr. Aale Dieter – he is famous for selling his fish. Hamburgs most traditional market ist worth getting up early. The must-see opens it’s doors during summer months every Sunday from 5.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. Two hours later the market starts in winter season.
